The Blue Socks Story.
Inspired by the amazing and difficult work of mental health professionals, the name ‘Blue Socks’ comes from a story that has stuck with owners Danielle and Ryan since they heard it.
A close friend was working in a rehab hospital specializing in patients in need of mental health services after traumatic brain injuries. There was a man staying at the facility who was having a hard time making it to his therapies, citing that he didn’t want to wear the hospital’s white socks and would rather have socks in his favorite color: blue.
The nurses reiterated that they didn’t have what he needed, but stressed the importance of attending his therapy. A social worker was called in and after hearing the man’s concerns, she decided that the best course of action for that day would be to get the man some blue socks so he could continue to heal and attend his therapy. There was probably something more complex going on for him that was about more than just his socks, but a lot of long-term improvements can start with a simple gesture of help.
In every industry and walk of life, the road to getting what we need can be blocked by all kinds of obstacles. Our job at Blue Socks Marketing is to find simple solutions to our clients’ existing problems. While some of the solutions won’t be permanent or tell us the full story of what will make a brand the most successful, we know they’re a great place to start.
We’d like to thank our social workers for all that they do every day and we’re proud to donate a portion of our profits every year to organizations serving these amazing professionals.
